Economist Richard Baldwin is one of the most readable commentators on the Trump Tariff War 2.0. He manages to describe complexity in simple terms which everyone can follow, though perhaps not those actually creating the policy. He is well worth a follow and as a bonus for us recruiters, he writes mainly on LinkedIn. One of his recent articles is a good exemplar of his work - an explanation as to
what makes Trumpian Tariffs different (they are arbitrary, varied at rate, target importer and on import type) and how this manifests in unseen and - for Trump at least - unwanted consequences.
