Empirically solid experiment which appears to confirm the seniority effect in AI job displacement. The method of this study is interesting: identify job postings of ‘AI integrator / implementer’ roles, map these back to the employers and then see whether junior / senior hiring in those employers have changed over time. The finding? Companies which are progressive with AI continue to hire senior but sharply reduce entry level hiring. Prediction: governments will mandate hiring for entry level, as employers - under intense pressure ‘to be more productive’ - fail to justify hiring juniors on short term economic grounds.
