Intriguing nuance on the graduate unemployment crisis - male graduates (in the US) currently have an unemployment rate on par with their non-graduate counterparts, entirely wiping out the premium gained from going to University, whilst incurring potential life altering debt to do so. Not so with female graduates, who still seem to have greater employability than their non-college counterparts. Choice of profession / sector probably a factor - health / social services remain growth sectors (see UK data from ONS in 9) and this remains female dominated. Do we need to encourage more men into healthcare, echoing the ‘teach girls code’ movement from only a few years ago? We got to do something. NB: Behind a paywall for OP has a tweet thread with the main insights.
