Most of us are going to hate the implication, but we need to confront it head on and recognise the truth of what OP says: candidates much prefer to hear from hiring managers / C-level execs, than from recruiters. The only reason why TA took on sourcing and outreach was because databases were inefficient and required specialist skills (boolean) to extract relevant data and because no hiring manager had the time to engage. Both those are changing with technology innovations we’re seeing go mainstream in 2025. Specialist recruitment functions might still exist but the work we do will drastically change.
