In short, because it is big enough so you can tell your investors you’re doing something but small enough not to require a wholesale rethink your org structure. Elad Gil thinks many companies should actually cut deeper, given the decades worth of organisational bloat fuelled by cheap money, most of which got parlayed into ‘over hiring’.
