It seems that in highly credentialised professions - lawyers, doctors etc - as high as 85% of career earnings could be attributed to pre-work qualifications. In fields with lower barriers to entry, work experience becomes the dominant factor. Stuff we know of course, but great to see the attempt to measure it. Also includes advice on how employers can cultivate social mobility by prompting internal job moves.
